it's the stars that ground us

look up. the answers are all in the sky. we're too small to worry, too short to be upset. in a context that immense who has time to waste? i have a serious love for the stars, the sky, the sunsets and sunrises. every night, i look up -- completely in awe. it grounds me. reminds me that no matter what i am doing, going through, or worried about, i am just a speckle. that there is so much to love and wonder about. that we gotta enjoy life, even if we gotta work real hard too.

one day i'll have a telescope (again, cause mine broke!) and a spot where i could quietly stare at everything around me up in that big ol' sky.

thankful part.3

images from the tumblr of minna so

overhearing a conversation between two people in studio really made me disappointed today. when they stated "there is no time to be thankful" as they conversed about thanksgiving day plans, i just thought to myself there is always time to be thankful. we go through a lot on a daily basis, but it is the more reason to give thanks.

as long as you are standing on this earth, breathing + living, i believe there is always something to be thankful for. let's take advantage. it doesn't take much effort to say a quick prayer, or thank you. write a note. smile. help someone out. pause and look around you. so much beauty surrounds us. it makes the tough moments worth while.

i urge you to enjoy this thanksgiving. love on each other. help. volunteer. pray.
whatever it is that you + your faith needs to do.
be grateful and enjoy it. i myself will be taking this advice because it's been one hard semester!

'tis the season for a sweater

gotta love a good, comfy sweater. and it's finally time to wear one, even if i'm in so.fla. it's still allowed!
i've been adding to my selection. newest, the BCBG. probably my all-time favorite knitted sweater.
so go sweater crazy! if you're in warmer parts of the country, pair it with pants and flats. if it's much colder, add boots and a jacket or scarf. dress 'em up, or down. have fun while staying warm!

product: moroccan oil

i've always been a huge fan of moroccan oil. i started off by using the serum before ironing my hair and always loved it. recently (10 months or so) i've been using their intense curl cream and i absolutely love it. it really helps me express my natural hair so here i am to recommend it 100%. my hair is not necessarily curly but it is pretty wavy so even if yours isn't either it will accentuate those soft curls.

i also just started to use their shampoo and conditioner which i used accidentally. i ran out of mine and borrowed, which ended up being a great deal for me. it is sulfate free which is great. leaves your hair very soft. try it out. as always you have to test products out and find what works for your type of hair. i have to wash mine every other day, so if you have dry hair you might need different products. but this one seems to be good for all types of hair. "repair" is always welcome in this world of irons and curlers. which is why i use this intense curling cream too, it helps me stay away from all that heat.

so if you girls are looking for some new products to test, go for these!

thankful part 2

even though i don't have time for wasting, every minute is planned and accounted for, sleep is rare and rushed, i spend too much time at studio, and i barely go out... i am so thankful for right now. i'm exactly where i need to be and i know it will be worth it one day. i hope you're exactly where you need to be. and if you don't feel that way, i hope you can find peace with your place in today. you might not be fully happy with right now but what is important is to know its worth. we all gotta work hard and fight for what we want!

ps. that's what my architecture studio desk looks right now ;)
